“28TH ANNUAL CNPHA “DRAWING PARTY HUGE SUCCESS!”

The 28th Annual “Almost Everyone Wins” Drawing Party, held May 1, 2010 at the cozy Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, CA. May will go down in the “Hereford History Books” as one of the biggest and best parties ever held in the history of this event! Sponsored by the non-profit California/Nevada Polled Hereford Association, there was a record crowd in attendance and a dazzling number of terrific, big-time door prizes for guests to take home.

Close to 300 party guests were royally wined and dined. The treats included sumptuous hors d’oeuvres by the platter-full, followed by a mouth-watering rib steak dinner with all the trimmings and several extraordinary, gourmet salads and dessert. Long after the party was over, guests were still raving about the delicious dinner, expertly prepared by Doug and Loree Josie & friends, Mountain Ranch, CA.

While the guests were “breaking bread” they were entertained by a red-hot 7-piece country music band - The Star Dust Cowboys. Their play list, featuring Western Swing - included all the greatest hits of some of the most legendary Western music performers of all time, including Marty Robbins and Bob Wills.

Big dollars were on the line for party-goers. Taking home the top prize of $2,000 were “new-comers” to the party - Frank and Laurie Vantacich, Loomis, CA. Pocketing the “Loser’s Pot” for $300 each was Jim & Pam McCormack, Lincoln, CA and Steve McDonald, Sacramento, CA.

Not only was the “draw down” exciting at this party but the door prizes were absolutely incredible. This is but a SMALL sampling:

Proceeds from this event will be earmarked for the many projects sponsored by CNPHA, including scholarship money for ag-oriented college kids as well as programs to benefit Hereford breeders.

“An exciting new fund raising project has been unveiled by the California/Nevada Polled Hereford Association that - anyone - young or old - who shows cattle - will find tantalizing! The mega-prize on the plate is a thrilling”$1,000 Shopping Spree” at the well known Sullivan’s Show Supply. The Sullivan trailer can almost always be found fully stocked and ready to meet the needs of exhibitors at major cattle shows throughout the state.

Anybody who has ever visited the Sullivan Show Supply trailer knows it is stocked top to bottom with everything a cattle exhibitor would ever need:   grain pans, show halters, aluminum grooming chutes, clippers, blowers, probiotics, show sticks, combs, brushes, water buckets and a never ending line-up of magic potions to make cattle hair look its very best.
