the year CNPHA sponsors social events that are both entertaining and
educational.
INVITATION TO EUER VALLEY '08
"A
new and inviting adventure is being unveiled by the California/Nevada
Polled Hereford Association and all friends of the Hereford breed are
invited to attend. On the weekend of July 26-27, 2008. CNPHA will
host the 1st Annual Euer Valley Hereford Getaway. This 1,200 acre
valley is tucked away in the heart of the rugged Sierra Nevada
Mountains, 15 minutes from downtown Truckee, CA.
Euer
Valley is a majestic place, reflecting Mother Nature at her
finest. Rimming the valley floor is a beautiful pine tree forest
soaring hundreds of feet in the air. And, a crystal-clear
mountain steam slowly winds like a ribbon through the heart of the
valley floor.
The
'valley' is owned by a longtime friend of the Hereford breed, John
Euer. The historic Euer Valley was settled by John's ancestors
back in the l860's. Just like his ancestors, for many years John
brought his prized herd of purebred Hereford cattle from the home ranch
in Folsom to the Valley every summer to graze the lush meadows of the
valley. Now, John has opened the door for all to share.
It
is in this magnificent setting that CNPHA will host the two-day
'Getaway.' Activities will begin with a Saturday afternoon lunch,
followed by an informal and educational discussion with cattle
experts on such hot-button issues as the growing BVD epidemic, ways of
dealing with the chronic problem of pink eye and invaluable tips on how
to resolve calving problems and bring 'em out alive!
Later
Saturday afternoon guest are invited to bring along their favorite
horse and ride or hike the miles of scenic trails in Euer Valley, or
just sit back and relax in camp, playing horse shoes or visiting
with old friends and new acquaintances.
Saturday
night the social hour will include scrumptious hors d'oeuvres, hosted
refreshments and a delicious steak dinner. After dinner guests
can gather 'round the camp fire and be royally entertained by
nationally-known cowboy comedian - Sour Dough Slim. The weekend
event will conclude with a Sunday morning breakfast.
CNPHA
is offering a package rate of $60 per person, which covers all
three meals. RV and camping facilities for guests and their
horses are available through John Euer, at a very nominal fee. In
addition, motel rooms in Truckee have been blocked. For

by California/Nevada Polled Hereford Association (A Non-Profit
Organization) "Friends of the Hereford breed
are invited to take advantage of an inexpensive yet effective
merchandising tool, about to be produced by the California/Nevada
Polled Hereford Association. Every two years CNPHA
publishes the Membership Directory, listing all (200)
members of CNPHA, their telephone numbers - and their ranch directions.
This 1st class document is something that is frequently referred to,
and is NOT read once and thrown away. Surrounding the membership
listing is advertising space that is very inexpensive yet very
effective. To put it simply, ad rates are cheap, especially in
light of the two-year life span of the Directory.
A full page B&W (roughly 5" x 8") is only $200 for two years, a
half-page is $100, one-third page is $75 and a business card ad is only
$50. Beautiful 4/color ads are $500 for two years and very
striking 2/color ads are only $300 for two years.
Making the deal even sweeter is the fact that we will build an ad for
you at NO cost. You do not have to submit a camera-ready
ad. If you would like technical assistance is putting an ad
together we would be happy to work with you in creating an ad that will
beautifully showcase your product.
Our Directory zeroes in on a very specific target audience. It
goes right into the hands of folks involved in the livestock
industry. More than 1,000 Directories are published and widely
distributed - for free - at major cattle events, such as the California
State Fair, breeder production sales, county fairs, bull sales, ranch
tours, field days and the annual California Cattleman's convention.
Please include a check with your ad copy, payable to CNPHA, 8500 Rock
Springs Road, Penryn, CA, 95663.
The deadline for ad copy and payment is March 1, 2008.
